About Jim Harbin, LPC

This is My Story

I have been in practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) for over twenty five years working and training in a variety of settings including schools, hospitals, businesses, private, and group practices.  I am currently working at Piedmont Psychiatric Services on Woodruff Rd. in Greenville, SC.

I obtained my BA in Psychology from the University of North Carolina and my M. Ed. in Personnel Services from Clemson University. Continuing my training I went on to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).  I also attained clinical member in the  American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and became a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC).  In addition I was a charter member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC).

I have worked with a wide variety of issues including depression, anxiety, grief resolution, bipolar disorder, anger management, and marital therapy just to mention a few. More recently my presentations, described as “warm”, “humorous”, “practical”, and “knowledgeable”, have been on stress management techniques.
