Description
Albert Einstein, with all his great gift of intellect and knowledge, told us that success was 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration. But in our world of instant knowledge and throw away items we don’t want to put forth the effort many times that is required for success.
In my old days of undergraduate work at the University of North Carolina, I had to walk to a library, look through the stacks of books for hours at a time searching out articles and information to present for a paper. Today instantly at your fingertips are the archives of hundreds of libraries.
But even with this many young people would rather spend their time playing mindless games on the internet rather than accessing the riches of knowledge available to them.
My point is that whether years ago or currently, whether in a library or on the internet, the message is still the same. It is the discipline and effort of the work that builds the character and that is what a company is looking for. Yes, it is harder than playing or wasting time, but the principle of ancient ages still applies today…you do reap what you sew. So sew good habits of effort that will pay off for you in the future.
